#PikuWeek Day 7 Bezubaan By Anupam Roy: Lyrics And Sing Along

If you liked Bezubaan from Piku by Anupam Roy, here are the lyrics.... and did you know the music was originally a rendition in Bengali? Do check out the track at the end of this post....

Kis lamhe ne thaami ungli meri
Phusla ke mujhko le chala
Nange paaon daudi aankhein meri
Khwabon ki saari bastiyan
Har dooriyaan har faasle qareeb hain
Iss umr ki bhi shakhsiyat ajeeb hai

Jheeni jheeni inn saanson se
Pehchaani si awaazon mein
Goonje hai aaj aasmaan
Kaise hum bezubaan
Iss jeene mein kahin hum bhi thhe
Thhe zyada ya zara kam hi thhe
Ruk ke bhi chal pade magar
Raste sab bezubaan

Jeene ki ye kaise aadat lagi
Bematlab ye karze chadh gaye
Haadson se bach ke jaate kahaan
Sab rote hanste seh gaye
Ab ghalatiyan jo maan li toh theek hai
Kamzoriyon ko jo maat di toh theek hai

Jheeni jheeni inn saanson se
Pehchaani si awaazon mein
Goonje hai aaj aasmaan
Kaise hum bezubaan

#PikuWeek Day #6 Piku Journey Song By Anupam Roy: Lyrics And Sing Along

http://i.ytimg.com/vi/oZ7PnR_ZKRE/maxresdefault.jpg

Yes, all the songs of Piku are amazing, but as this was the one that was first launched for the audience to hear, here are the lyrics once again....

Dheere chalna hai mushkil to jaldi hi sahi
Aankhon ke kinaaro mein bahaane hi sahi

Hum chale baharon mein
Gungunati raahon mein
Dhadkane bhi tez hain
Ab kya karein
Waqt hai toh jeene de
Dard hai to seene de
Khwahishein anjaan hai
Ab kya karein

Shabdon ke pahaadon pe likhi hai dastaan
Khwabon ke lifaafon mein chhupa hai raasta

Piku Week Day # 4 Piku Unplugged Music By Anupam Roy (Speaks To Fever 104 FM About Piku, His Music And More)

While I did hear a lot lot lot about Piku and Anupam Roy on both Mumbai and Delhi FM, I unfortunately did not get a chance to 'listen' to the excitement on Kolkata radio (coz I don't visit there often, simple!). So when I saw this interview (thanks to Anupam and Nabarun for sharing the link!!) I knew I had to share it with all of you who may not have heard or seen it yet...

As the interview is in Bengali, I will share some of the conversation here (I am leaving out the parts that are not about his music or work)...

Okay....so for those of you who do not know, Nobby, or Nabarun Bose, is a huuuuuuuuuge Sherlock fan (and a Superman Fan and a Batman fan and an all those super hero fans that are out there and I still do not know about!!!) so it was obvious that the interview began with a rendition of the classic Sherlock theme as played by Nobby on the keyboards....enjoy it first...

And here's the conversation that follows:

RJ: So tell us about your musical journey all the way back from your first movie Autograph (Bengali) in 2010 till Piku in 2015.
Anupam: The journey has been really great. I'm having a lot of fun. And it's actually like 'hum chalein bahaaron mein' and people have loved the songs. The songs have come out one after the other and that's what has given me the encouragement to come out with new songs more and more. It has been great. I'm looking forward to a bigger journey.

Piku Week Day#3: Piku Sarod Theme By Anupam Roy

From the moment the movie #Piku started there was something that was tugging at our hearts, right? Did you figure out what that was? Did you notice those strings that were pulling at you?

I'm talking about the magic of sarod that blended a sepia toned image of bachpan, our childhood days spent in Delhi's galiyaan and lanes, those times spent with your parents that are taken for granted and later cherished and shed a tear or two for, those lazy afternoons of doing nothing, that longing for the love who isn't around or who doesn't know about it yet, that hug that can block out the entire world and those fallen leaves that caress your steps on those beautiful and snug winter mornings...

It's so much and more.....and all of that is brought back by the sarod theme composed by Anupam Roy that runs through the movie.

Here's the link to the sarod theme...LISTEN TO IT HERE

The Piku Week Day #2: A Hall Full Of Punabis And Sardarjis And Bangalis And Taaliyaan: Non Stop Applause

So finally last night I managed to get tickets and watch PIKU!!And what an experience obviously it was....

I have been trying to get tickets ever since the advance bookings opened....but my chances were pretty dim, as almost all theaters I tried were sold out....a great thing, but not necessarily for me. I had vowed not to give up and I kept at it each single day...till I got the tickets :)

Once there, I realized we were up against one giant crowd....EVERYONE seemed to be there for Piku...and what a mix...from all sorts of North Indians to Bengalis to Punjabis to Sardars to ladies in burqa and more...they had all come to have a dekho...

The Piku Week: Day #1 : What Did The Punjabi Aunty Say?

Starting today, this is going to be the #PikuWeek on this blog. Why now? Because I did not get the chance to watch this movie yet....even though I have been jumping with excitement muchhhhh before the release. But as is obvious with the love the audience is continuing to show, tickets are alllll sold out and I just couldn't find any! So we begin today.....

For today, I'll tell you my #PikuStory

So I was taking a walk in one of Delhi's lush green streets, with lots of people walking yet no one acknowledging each other. Out of the blue there was this old lady who gave me a smile. Of course I smiled back and one thing let to another and suddenly, while discussing something else, she said 'You must watch Piku.'

Can you imagine the smile I had? I bet you can...I was smiling like an ass like I always do.....gosh!

So very nicely I asked her - why?

The old Punjabi aunty told me that she watched the movie in the first few days of its release. And ever since she has been recommending it to everyone - family, friends and even strangers of all age and tongue!

Lyrics Of Obhabe Keno By Anupam Roy From The Movie Bela Sheshey

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrWox_LJTOvqxBlK3wx8E1A_97b5vTFoFJKYzpPRLaU6lWs1-aywaV_voIl3FpcZ6owcmZQ_RCMPKDviOAaKlKG6yp2yKrAFOfu24PTIvobYt8tOVdmFA4lO0H8knvkbWJRByeqrsapa5R/s1600/belasheshe.jpg

All of a sudden all my non-Bong friends are talking about the amazingly fresh music that has been introduced in Bollywood recently. The songs have been gaining a lot of love, appreciation and fandom, and of course the name Anupam Roy is getting more and more popular.

But one song that was released along a similar time was a beautiful song called Obhabey Keno from the movie Bela Sheshe. I 'happened' to come across the song by accident, and even as I was trying to understand it more, I realized the emotions right from the start.

There's always a story to all the Anupam Roy songs I listen to and love. Maybe a difficult time in my own life, maybe certain times were I give up and just need that extra something, maybe some love that I need and it ends up coming to me from all the way there - whatever it is, an Anupam Roy song always and always inspires me, making me smile, hope, dream and look forward to things that are to come.

The song Obhabe Keno is extremely powerful in the emotions it evokes and the way it shook me up. I remember I heard it quite late in the night, around 3 am or something, and even though I knew it was late, I ended up getting up and calling a friend.....I was down in the dumps then and I needed someone to talk to.....and the song made me do just that....It tells you that in life, make sure you grab each and every moment, and don't waste any time to tell someone about what you feel, or what you are going through right then - your partner, your friend, your child, your parents, anyone who may have a special mention in your heart......make sure you reach out.
Thank you Anupam once again for making me feel it's just for me - something I needed. Read on.
